The Most positive disabled Veteran you will meet!

Fundraiser To Help My Friend Keith

About three years ago, I met Keith, an 81-year-old disabled Vietnam veteran, He is one of the most positive people I know it’s like talking to a motivational speaker, now a great friend I learned about the truly unbelievable challenges he is going thru. Now, I'm reaching out for anyone’s help because I don’t know what else I can do that will improve his life and get him what he needs.

Keith's Extraordinary Journey:

  • War Wounds & Surgery Saga: Keith, a resilient warrior, faced the trauma of the Vietnam war, leading to multiple heart and back surgeries.
  • Seizure Symphony: Over the past many years, Keith battled a relentless symphony of seizures, adding to his daily challenges. One of them put him in the hospital and then the nursing home.
  • Nursing Home Nightmares: Keith spent a year and a half in a nursing home after one of the seizures also during COVID, (no visitors) enduring another injury where an attendant dropped him on the bed, rendering him unable to walk or sit up for an extended amount of time and many therapies..
  • Ambulance Crash: In a shocking incident, Keith was being transported by Ambulance to the VA hospital in Los Angeles for and MRI on his back. The Ambulance was rear ended on the 405 freeway and Kieth need to be extracted from the ambulance by the jaws of life at the emergency room when they arrived.
  • Leaky Roof Dramatics: Waking up in the nursing home to water pouring in on top of him in his bed adding to the challenges he faced.
  • Neck Surgery Necessity: Now, Keith faces the possibility of surgery to address neck injuries sustained in the ambulance crash, adding another layer to his medical challenges.

  • Veteran Affairs Challenges: It's disheartening to note that our Veteran Affairs system, designed to support veterans, often falls short. The red tape nightmare and lack of timely assistance have left Keith, and many others, struggling to access the help they need. I've personally experienced the challenges when attempting to navigate the system on Keith's behalf.
  • COVID Confinement: Keith experienced the isolation of COVID, with visits becoming a rare occurrence during this challenging time.
  • Hoarded House Havoc: FINALLY, REASED and returning home, Keith found his tiny 600sq ft 2bed 1 bath house hoarded, making it virtually impossible for him to navigate with his walker.
  • Financial Freefall 2.0: Scams drained their savings of over $25,000, and Keith's dream of a cross-country road trip became a distant mirage.

How can you help?

Keith's Immediate Needs:

  1. Home Cleanup: Keith's house needs a thorough cleanout to provide a safe and comfortable living space.   (hoarding specialist referral or TV show?)
  2. Wife's Support: In addition to Keith's needs, we are also seeking support for his wife. If you know a hoarding specialist and therapist who can assist her, it would be a crucial step towards providing a healthier living environment (Therapist?)
  3. Bathroom Remodel or Extension: Ideally, Keith requires a remodeled, handicap-accessible bathroom or an extension to his 600 sq ft home with a disabled bedroom and bathroom setup, including a roll-in shower. ( Charitable contractor?)
  4. Hotrod Shop Assistance: Keith dreams of fixing up his '53 Chevy truck. If you know of a hot rod shop or can help, it will mean the world to him. (Charitable Hotrod auto restoration garage)

Your Support Can Make a Difference:

  • Financial Resurrection: Contribute, and every dollar counts, from $1 to $100,000. There are some people that will receive this that could write a check and not feel anything but JOY! (please)
  • Referrals: If you know a contractor, hoarding specialist, or a hot rod shop, your referrals can rewrite Keith's future.
  • Legal Assistance: Keith may also require legal representation to investigate and address the injuries sustained during the ambulance crash. A referral to an attorney would be immensely valuable in ensuring justice and support.
  • Financial Advisor
  • Military Charity that can actually help
